Arts In Education

Decidedly Jazz Danceworks is deeply committed to sharing our love of jazz music and dance with students in schools and providing top quality dance instruction in a fun and energetic atmosphere. Dance feeds the soul, nourishes the heart, and puts groove in every step, especially when it’s jazz dance.

We performed our first program for elementary school children in 1985 and have been delivering performances, residencies and workshops ever since. We also provide teaching resources at our www.djdinschools.com site. For more information about any of our programs, or to book your DJD experience now request us, or contact Joanne Baker 403-616-9640, our Arts-In-Education Coordinator.

Students can experience dance with DJD through:

In School Performance - The Great Jazz History Mystery – learn about the history of jazz through a child-oriented touring show.

Artist in Education Residency Program - bring DJD to your school for students to experience a 5 - 10 day residency.

Student Dress Rehearsals – look “behind the curtains” while enjoying the spectacle of a fully developed DJD Company show.

Student & Teacher Workshops – discover jazz through interactive workshops at DJD’s studios.
