Warm up your winter at this annual intensive training opportunity for all levels. We celebrate one of the many branches of Jazz dance with special classes. International guest artists join our faculty to create a weekend of intense fun and concentrated learning.
Take one special class, or dance all weekend - stock up on Epsom salts first, though. Past guest artists include Ali Bangoura (West African), Josh Hilberman (Tap), Jeannie Hill(Jazz and Tap), Katherine Kramer (Jazz and Tap), Bradley Rapier (Hip Hop), Billy Siegenfeld (Jazz), Alseny Soumah (West African), Keith Terry (Body Percussion), and Lynn Simonson (Jazz).
2010 Workshop Guest Artist: Tap Dancer Joshua Hilberman
February 6 & 7, 2010

Also featuring Lisa LaTouche and Tasha Lawson
Tap dancer Joshua Hilberman performs, choreographs, and teaches
internationally. Groomed by vaudevillians and old-time entertainers,
and with an ongoing mentorship with tap pioneer Brenda Bufalino, Josh
has performed all over the US and Europe, and been a featured faculty
member at more than 75 tap dance festivals. Recognized with a lifetime
achievement award by the Barcelona Tap Association, a Dance
USA/National Endowment for the Arts grant for choreography, and the
2009 Presidential Scholars Teachers Recognition award, Hilberman's
travels in tap have entered a third decade.
"…after modest opening remarks, Josh Hilberman became the zany tap wizard he really is, dancing in half a dozen styles with costumes of ever-escalating weirdness…With the inventive pleasure of all great tappers, he can throw a complex tornado of steps into the ground, but he can also fling a leg out in space to suspend the beat, or skim bodily across distances without suppressing the rhythmic storm that’s going on in his feet."
