DJD is known for its compelling, engaging and uplifting jazz dance performances and musical creations. We reach hundreds of thousands of people in Calgary, Canada and beyond with our advertising and promotions, and host more than 10,000 guests in performances annually. Performance Sponsor - Marking a specific artistic work with your brand gives you premium visibility through websites, electronic promotions, printed materials, ads, and lobby signs as well as opportunities for hosting clients and colleagues. A performance typically runs 5 to 11 days and reaches thousands of audience members.
Single Performance Sponsor - Sponsoring one performance during the run of a production and gain unique exposure and special hosting opportunities. You receive logo recognition in the production program, on-site signage the night of the performance, and up to 30 tickets to host your clients, employees or network.
Gala Night Performance Sponsor – Invest in the highlight gala evening of our largest annual performance featuring an exclusive pre-show reception attracting 350 dedicated arts and community supporters. Possessed– Calgary’s hottest fundraising dance party – Become a sponsor of DJD’s provocative and entertaining party attracting more than 700 partygoers each year (primarily young professionals and business owners). With a live band, impromptu performances by DJD’s professional dancers, and sensory surprises all night, possessed continues the one-of-a-kind party tradition started 26 years ago with our Black and White Ball! Support artistic creation & artists
Professional Training Program – Invest in the development of emerging dancers. A vital part of sustaining jazz dance and our company of professional dancers is training. DJD offers select, talented dancers a Professional Training Program that develops the next generation of dancers and leaders in the art form. Dancers audition to attend the program, and regrettably, a major barrier to training is the financial means to attend. For sponsoring our training program, you are rewarded with your impact and visibility on our websites, electronic promotions, and printed materials.
Original Dance Presenting Sponsor - Invest in the creation of a vibrant, original jazz work by talented Canadian artists. DJD is one of a mere handful of full-time, professional jazz dance companies in the world. Unique as we are, DJD needs to create our own repertoire. DJD’s work is African-rooted, swing-based, rhythmically focused and musically propelled. Art in Education – Contribute to our education outreach programs that make a difference in the lives of thousands of young people and teachers. DJD reaches children K to 17 in schools, including schools serving by low-income families, with art-enriched educational experiences, including bringing our kids show to schools, participating as artists in residence, and conducting student and teacher workshops. Kids in Need Camp and Class Program – Invest as a lead sponsor of our children’s bursary program that enables young people ages 5-17 from a low-income family to attend a summer dance camp or class at our School of Decidedly Jazz. Let’s make it possible for children in poverty and youth at risk to gain greater self-confidence and coordination, make new friends, and learn creative and constructive ways to express themselves. Getting Families Jazzed - Sponsor DJD’s program to provide performance tickets to deserving families that could not otherwise afford to attend. We work with various social service agencies and community organizations to distribute the tickets. Families benefit from the experience as imaginations and conversations are sparked on a wide range of topics, as well as from developing healthy bonds through quality time spent together. Student Dress Rehearsals – Help to fund DJD’s program of offering students a free or highly discounted chance to look “behind the curtains” while enjoying the spectacle of a fully developed DJD Company show in the theatre.
